Janet Evens
Janet Ruth Evens age 67, of Greencastle passed away Wednesday at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born April 14, 1941 in Putnam County, Indiana the daughter of Venard E. and Margaret L. (Parrish) Jones. She was a graduate of Greencastle High School. On June 29, 1957 she married M. Dale Evens and he preceded her in death on November 21, 1995.
Mrs. Evens had been a homemaker and also the Supervisor of Housekeeping with the Putnam County Hospital for 16 years. She was a member of the Fillmore United Methodist Church.

Jensen & husband, Scott of Plainfield, Penny J. Allee & husband, Joseph of Greencastle, Paula G. Huebner & husband, Darwin Sr. of Marion, WI., Samuel Dale Evens & wife, Cindy (Gaston) of Greencastle, Sandra D. Nevins & husband, Jack of Greencastle; brothers, David Jones & wife, Karen of Brownsburg, Roland Jones of Martinsville, Charles Jones & wife, Pam of Brazil, & Scott Jones of Spencer; sisters, Sharon Randall & husband, Leon of Gosport & Julie Paduano & husband, Charles of Kendalville; 15 grandchildren, Emmy (Allee) McIntosh, Manda (Allee) Hiday, James Dale Allee, Jennifer (Allee) Strother, Joseph Allee, Audra Jensen, Emma Jensen, Curt Jensen, Marian Jenkins, Makegan Huebner, Ezekiel Evens, Caleb Evens, Nickolas Nevins, Lucas Nevins, Kayla Nevins; and four great grandchildren, Natalie Marie Lineweaver, Mary Jo Strother, Ryan Joseph Strother, & Dakota Leann Allee.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; foster parents, Noel & Daitha Bettis; and a granddaughter, Kayla Renee Allee.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Palmer Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 PM on Friday.
