Shoe Sensation coming to Greencastle

Sunday, August 24, 2008

Greencastle is getting a new shoe store that will be located near to the Peebles Apparel store at Putnam Plaza. Shoe Sensation, a regional chain of family stores selling quality name-brand shoes, joins Peebles, a new apparel store, Sears, Heritage Federal Credit Union, D's Dry Cleaners and the Tobacco Store.

Nearly all the empty space at the old, abandoned Wal-Mart shopping center is filling up. Tractor Supply (TSC), T & T Nails, The Great China Buffet and Associated Orthodontists of Indiana have anchored the center for some time along with the Teachers Credit Union. O'Reily's Auto Parts built a store in the front of the center last year.

Shoe Sensation is a regional chain of family shoe stores selling quality name-brand shoes. The stores carry a large selection of men's, women's, children's, and athletic footwear in a better-branded merchandise mix.

According to company officials, the store was developed to meet the footwear needs of the entire family and includes shoes from toddlers to senior citizens.

Each store is staffed with local management in order to customize merchandise to the local market. Shoe Sensation stores are always well staffed with friendly personnel to assist customers in locating styles and sizes.

Headquartered in Murray, Ky, the company has 600 employees and revenues of $31.5 million. Information about the company can be found at www.shoesensation.com.

  • Yea! We really need a shoe store in Greencastle, expecially one where someone will help you.

I am glad to see new stores coming into Greencastle. But what happened to the strip mall across from Krogers. Looks like it is taking an awlful long time for someone to move into them. The new Veterinary Clinic on North Jackson went up very quick and they will be moving in soon. The strip mall was complete before that one even started. Just wondering???

  • I believe if their help is friendly to the customer and have what they need these stores will do good.I recently had to purchase a new mirco wave-I went to Sears and got friendly service and a very nice mirco wave which was on sale and saved money by not having to drive to Plainfield. Customer service is the key and Greencastle does lack that at some stores.I would like to see another drug store in Greencastle like a Walgreens or Rite Aid.We have more gas stations and banks than drug stores.
