LEBANON -- The South Putnam girls' golf team finished 11th out of 15 teams in Saturday's Western Boone Invitational at Cool Lake Golf Club.

Heather Hughes led the Eagle effort with an 83. She was followed by Grace Aker's 92 and Cassie Warren's 110. Sarah Dobson was the last Eagle scorer with a 111. Kelsey Searles added a 116.

"Overall, we played very well," said Eagle coach Debbie Steffy. "Our scores are starting to come don and the girls are really thinking through things, using good course management.

In particular, Steffy was pleased for a couple of her younger players.

"I was especially happy for Cassie Warren and Sarah Dobson. They played very well," the coach said.

Lebanon won the event with a 335. Franklin Central's Janice Baumberger was medalist, firing a 70.

The Eagles were back in action Tuesday evening at Edgewood with Indian Creek. They visit Cascade at 4:30 p.m. today.
