GHS volleyball competes at Barr-Reeves Invite
MONTGOMERY -- The Greencastle girls' volleyball team (2-9, 0-2 WCC) went 1-3 at the Barr-Reeve Invitational on Saturday.
"This was an awesome tournament to see some very high caliber opponents," Greencastle head coach Trish Lowe said. "Although all of the schools are 1 and 2A, three of the eight teams are ranked in the top 10."
The Tiger Cubs defeated Princeton 25-17 and 29-27 for their lone win of the day. GHS lost to Wes-Del and Borden in two games and took Linton to three before falling to the Miners.
"Brooke Lewis was definitely our player of the weekend," Lowe said. "She was our 'defensive diva.'"
Lowe believes that the strength of the competition will only help the Tiger Cubs in the long run. She noted they faced some great players and faced some very hard hitters -- but most of all she said it was a great, fun day of volleyball.
The Tiger Cubs will hit the road to face North Montgomery at 6 p.m. today.
