The "little ninjas" karate group from All American Karate Academy took some time to demonstrate their skill recently. The group will be breaking boards along with 150 of their fellow Karate students on Saturday to raise money for the Putnam County Red Cross.

Kids from ages 3 to 16 will be demonstrating their abilities on Sat. Sept. 20 during the All American Karate Academy Break-a-thon.

The event will take place in the parking lot of the Dollar Store on Indianapolis Road from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The group will take pledges to raise funds for Red Cross operations in Putnam County and the public is invited to attend the event. A bounce house and other games will be available that day. The student raising the most money will win a gift basket from the Red Cross.

All American Karate Academy along with Wood Builder, Inc. and Wabash Capital are sponsoring the event.

Steve and Niki St. Pierre teach students at the academy located at 1003 Mill Pond Rd, Greencastle. There are four categories of students at the Academy. The Little Ninjas class is for kids aged 3-6 years; the Karate Kids class is for children from 7 to 13; the next class is for students aged 14 and up; and an adult class is also available.

Over 150 students attend the academy that teaches things like balance, coordination, memory skills, safety skills, teamwork, focus, self control and increasing physical fitness.

The adult classes continue to build on self-confidence, building discipline, improving fitness and relieving stress and tension.

The public is invited to stop by, make a pledge and watch the action on Saturday.
