Gerald Sinclair

Gerald L. Sinclair, 58, Cloverdale, passed away Sept. 17, 2008 in a farming accident at his home. He was born Nov. 26, 1949 in Greencastle, the son of Curtis and Lucille Sinclair.

On Feb. 20, 1972 in Fillmore, he married Beverly Ann Rector. She survives.

He was a 1967 graduate of Cloverdale High School. He graduated from Vincennes University and in 1971, he received his Animal Science Degree from Purdue University.

Jerry and his wife owned and operated Sinclair Genetics. He was an active member and supporter of the 4-H program while encouraging his children as they both participated in 4-H and FFA. He was a long-time member of the National Swine Registry. Jerry has been judging youth swine shows all of his adulthood and found much joy in supporting swine youth programs. He was an avid Purdue sports fan and enjoyed watching an occasional NASCAR race.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 36 years, Beverly A. Sinclair; two sons, Bradley L. Sinclair and wife Erin, and David A. Sinclair and wife Cristy; one grandson, Gavin Sinclair; and his parents, Curtis and Lucille Sinclair, all of Cloverdale.

Jerry was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Fred and Freada Sinclair and maternal grandparents, Clyde and Madge Sutherlin.

Services will be held at Donald L. Pearson Mortuary, Cloverdale, on Saturday, Sept. 20. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with services following at 3 p.m. Services will be officiated by Pastor John Nees.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations, through First National Bank, Cloverdale, IN, to start a memorial in memory of Jerry Sinclair.
