Emergency responders invited to appreciation event
All local emergency personnel and their families are invited to the second annual Putnam County Emergency Personnel Appreciation Hog Roast and Cornhole Tournament Saturday.
Hosts for the event are Bob Campbell of the Greencastle Fire Department and Ed Wilson of the Greencastle Police Department.
"We decided last year to start this event to show thanks to all of the emergency services personnel in Putnam County for everything they do, and also to celebrate that we as a family have made it through another year safely," said Campbell.
The hog roast will begin at noon, and the cornhole tournament will start at 2 p.m.
The event will take place on the south side of the Putnam County Jail. Attendees should bring lawn chairs and outdoor games.
Warm-ups for cornhole will begin at 1 p.m.
The tournament is only open to emergency personnel, but teams can be mixed between departments.
Entry forms for the tournament can be picked up at the Greencastle Fire Department or the Greencastle Police Department.
The event is free for all personnel and their families. Sponsors include the Putnam County Prosecutor's Office, Putnam County Sheriff's Office, McDonald's, Wendy's, Pizza Hut, Wal-Mart, Kroger and Cav's Mobile Karaoke and DJ Services.
