Oletha M. Schauwecker, 88, of Plainfield died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008 at Heartland Health Care Center, Avon.

Mrs. Schauwecker was born May 15, 1920, in Clay County to Arthur Ari and Tilda Jane (Puckett) Craig. She married Gordon Mac Schauwecker on Feb. 24, 1940, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1990.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Avon and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter in Clay City (now merged with O.E.S. No. 304, Bowling Green). She was a homemaker and an EKG technician for Hendricks Community Hospital, Danville.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donnie and Janice Schauwacker of Plainfield, Lonnie and Nita Schauwacker of Carmel and Ronnie Schauwacker of Clayton; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded i death by five sisters, Norma Ames, Muriel Gorby, Eldred Irene Church Bicard Greenwood, Jenny Craig and Mary Craig; two brothers, Everett Craig and Clint Craig; and a grandson, Richard A. Blakely.

Services will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with the Rev. David Clayton officiating. Calling will be today from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Clay City.
