DePauw men's golf wins Small College Classic

CLAYTON -- Tiger men's golf shot a DePauw Small College Classic single-round record of 288 today and matched their two-round tournament record of 591 as they captured their second straight Classic title. Otterbein was second with a 598 and Wittenberg third at 616.

DePauw's Joey Piatek was the medalist with a 143, while Franklin's Eric Whitaker and Albion's Mark McLaughlin tied for second at 146.

Whitaker is a 2007 North Putnam graduate.

Other DePauw finishers included Ronnie Harris in fourth with a 147, Ryan Berra and Chase King in a tie for 12th at 152 and Nathan Smith in a tie for 28th with a 158. Playing as individuals, Peter Haller tied for fifth with a 148, while Alex Burns tied for 18th with a 156 and Jake Walsh tied for 21st with a 157.

The Tigers return to action on October 20-21 at the Oglethorpe Fall Invitational.
