Ralph Edwin Arnold, 84, of Coatesville, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008 at Roudebush, V.A. Hospital.

Born Sept. 10, 1924, in Coatesville, he was the son of Schuyler and Sadie F. O'Neal Arnold.

He was a lifetime Putnam County farmer and served in the U.S. Navy as a signalman in World War II. He was a member of the Greencastle American Legion and VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Baker Arnold; daughters, Suzanne Hutcheson and husband Greg, of Greencastle, Nancy Davidson and husband Mark, of Coatesville; sons, Arthur and Toney Arnold and wife Kim, of Coatesville; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Arnold, of Oregon; sisters, Betty Owen, of Coatesville, and Luanna Horn, of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kay and brother John Arnold.

Calling was Monday at Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville. Funeral services are today at 11 a.m. at Union Valley Baptist Church, 8021 E. CR 550 South, Coatesville. Burial with military rites will follow at Stilesville Cemetery.
