Clovers run at Brown County

NASHVILLE -- The Cloverdale cross country season came to an end Tuesday night at the Brown County Sectional with the girls finishing 10th and the boys placing 11th.

Clover coach Katie McLaughlin called it a "good end to the season."

The rookie coach is ready to roll things into her second year at the helm.

"We're already planning for next year. It feels good to have the first year under my belt," McLaughlin said.

Jenna Lewis led the Lady Clover effort, finishing 39th in 23:03. Nikki Routh was next in 46th. Megan Schwomeyer was 59th and Kayla Hegna placed 66th. Samantha Monnett finished the Clover effort in 73rd.

For the boys, junior Kyle Chambers led the way, running under 19 minutes for the first time. He placed 45th with an 18:59. Brian Stout was next in 65th, and Chuck Strunk was 69th. James Murphy placed 77th, followed by Joseph Fidler in 78th.

McLaughlin expressed her appreciation to her three outgoing seniors.

"Congratulations to seniors Jenna Lewis, Megan Schwomeyer and Brian Stout. We will miss you," she concluded.
