Food drive begins today

Saturday, November 1, 2008

The Putnam County Hospital has boxes -- like this one -- on every floor for their food drive. It begins today and will continue until Nov. 14. Their goal is to donate 1,000 pounds of food to the food pantry at the Senior Center. Donations can include non-perishable food items, toilet paper, soap and other toiletries. The idea is to help the food pantry "stock up" before the Thanksgiving holiday.

"The food pantry get hits hard this time of year," said Jennifer Bedwell, clinic and marketing director for the hospital.

She said they would like to donate 2,000 pounds or one ton of food.
