Helen Jean Shepherd

Helen Jean Shepherd, 73, of Cloverdale, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7 at Putnam County Hospital.

Mrs. Shepherd was born Aug. 8, 1935 in Summerville, Kentucky to John and Mary Skaggs. She married Morgan Shepherd on June 10, 1955, and he preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Cunot, and also a member of Topps in Putnam County.

Survivors include two daughters, Belinda Monnet and husband Robert of Brazil and Debra Shepherd Book of Quincy; four sons, Kerry Shepherd and wife Cindy of Cloverdale, Curtis Shepherd and wife Lori of Cloverdale, Michael Shepherd and wife Shari of Cloverdale and Kenneth Shepherd and wife Sabrina of Rosedale; sister Joyce Darter of Oklahoma; brother Bob Skaggs of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at Donald L. Pearson Mortuary, Cloverdale with Pastor Wesley McClure officiating. Calling will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Combes Cemetery in Quincy.
