Florence Kridler
Florence Blanche Cobes Kridler, also known as "Grammy", 94, of Greencastle died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008.
She was born July 11, 1914 in Derry Township, Westmoreland County, Penn. to Ira James and Hannah McCurdy Cobes.
Mrs. Kridler was a former employee of Angwell Curtain Factory and retired from G.C. Murphy Co. in 1979.
She was a member of Brick Chapel Methodist Church, AARP, RSVP, Putnam County Hospital Guild, Over 50's Club and the Putnam County Senior Center Kitchen Band, where she played the kazoo.
Her parents and husband, John R. Kridler, whom she married on May 21, 1937, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children, Janice Barnett and husband, Harold of Greencastle and James W. Kridler and wife, Virginia of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; two granddaughters, Faye Grimes and husband, David of Greencastle and Caren Armstrong of Greencastle; five great- grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Taylor officiating. Calling will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Burial will be in Brick Chapel Cemetery.
