Sheriff's Dept

Jonathan Weir, Greencastle, was traveling on County Road 500 E at 6:02 p.m. Nov. 20, when a deer ran in the path of his vehicle. Weir was not injured. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Angela Finney, Martinsville, was traveling west on S.R. 42 at 10:37 a.m. Nov. 23, when she attempted to pass a vehicle. The tires on the left side of Finney's vehicle left the road; she overcorrected causing her vehicle to leave the road. Her vehicle struck a sharp embankment and sign before going airborne and flipping several times. Finney's vehicle came to rest upside down in a cut cornfield. Finney was transported to Putnam County Hospital. Her vehicle was towed by Steele's Towing. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Dennis Harney, Plainfield, stated he was following a vehicle driven by Renee Weekly, Greencastle, and did not notice the vehicle slowing for a turn. Harney's vehicle struck Weekly's vehicle on the right-back side. Weekly stated she was turning into her driveway and using her turn signal. Harney's vehicle left the road and damaged a fence at Weekly's residence. No injuries were reported. The accident occurred at 5:10 p.m. Nov. 24. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Charles Branson, Bloomingdale, was traveling east on U.S. 36 at 6:05 p.m. Nov. 24, when a deer ran in front of his vehicle. He was unable to avoid hitting the animal. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Allison Nagel, Cloverdale, was traveling north on U.S. 231 at 6:38 a.m. Nov. 25, when a deer ran in front of her vehicle. She was unable to avoid a collision with the animal. Nagel was uninjured. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Randall Funk, Greencastle, was traveling west on U.S. 36 at 6:05 p.m. Nov. 25, when a deer ran in front of his vehicle. He was unable to avoid hitting the animal. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Arlene Atkins, Fuquay Varina, N.C., and her husband, Justin, were traveling east on I-70, when a vehicle driven by Vanessa Creech, Indianapolis, swerved into their lane as a result of an unknown motorist's actions. Atkins stated Creech's vehicle struck their vehicle, causing it to roll several times and come to rest in the median. As a result of hitting Atkin's vehicle, Creech's vehicle came to rest in the eastbound lane facing west against a guardrail. Atkins and her husband were transported to Putnam County Hospital with complaints of pain. Statements were obtained from Atkins, Creech and several witnesses, which all matched.

Michael Wagoner, Reelsville, was traveling south on County Road 1250 S at 10:40 a.m. Nov. 25. Wagoner stated he was "not sure what happened." Skid marks indicated Wagoner was attempting to slow as he approached a curve in the road. Skid marks also indicated the left, front tire of Wagoner's vehicle slid roughly 54 feet and was traveling straight instead of rounding the curve, causing it to leave the road and strike a tree. Wagoner was pulling a trailer with his pickup truck, which gave momentum causing the rear of the truck to raise and strike a second tree with the right backside. Wagoner was able to exit his truck. He suffered a contusion/laceration to his forehead and complained of back and chest pains. Wagoner refused medical treatment at the scene and was to be transported to a medical facility by his wife. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Brantley Mitchell, Greencastle, was stopped and attempting to turn onto Primrose Lane from U.S. 231 at 11:59 a.m. Nov. 27, when a vehicle driven by Justin Smith, Coalgate, Okla., struck the rear of Mitchell's vehicle. Smith stated he was distracted by his cell phone and did not observe Mitchell's stopped vehicle until it was too late to avoid a collision. Mitchell's vehicle was towed by Jerry's Towing. Smith's vehicle was towed by Steele's Towing. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Shane Kosobud, Coatesville, was traveling south on Heritage Drive at 11:45 a.m. Nov. 30, when he lost control of his vehicle due to snow and slush on the road. His vehicle struck a guardrail before coming to a rest in a yard. A passing motorist pulled his vehicle from the yard. Kosobud was uninjured. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Joshua Overstreet, Greencastle, was traveling south on County Road 575 E at 9:35 a.m. Nov. 30, when he lost control of his vehicle after crossing a snow/slush covered bridge. His vehicle went off the right side of the road and into a ditch before striking a Hendricks Power utility pole. Overstreet suffered contusions and a laceration to his head, but refused medical treatment at the scene. Overstreet stated he was wearing his seat belt. The owner towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Krystal Finchum, Cloverdale, was traveling west on S.R. 42 at 8:20 a.m. Nov. 30, when she attempted to negotiate a curve and lost control on the snow/slush covered road. Finchum's vehicle left the road, struck a sign and post; continued south and came to rest in a ditch with the left, front tire near the fog line. Finchum left the scene and returned to her residence, where she notified Steele's Towing. A sheriff went to Clover-View Apartments to obtain pertinent information. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Putnam County Jail

There have been several individuals booked into the Putnam County Jail recently for various charges.

Mitchell Walton, 28, Cloverdale, was booked at 1:12 a.m. Nov. 27 for operating while intoxicated, public intoxication and failure to stop following an accident.

Travis Wilhite, 24, Greencastle, was booked at 3:31 a.m. Nov. 27 for operating while intoxicated and public intoxication.

Steven Hornback, 34, Fillmore, was booked at 4:28 p.m. Nov. 27 for contempt of court.

James Elliott, 22, Greenwood, was booked at 1:15 a.m. Nov. 28 for driving under the influence, operating per se and public intoxication.

Ravi Jani, 23, Greenwood, was booked at 1:40 a.m. Nov. 28 for public intoxication.

Randy Weddle, 39, Greencastle, was booked at 10:43 p.m. Nov. 28 for probation violation.

David Clark, 19, Greencastle, was booked at 10:50 p.m. Nov. 28 for alcohol possession by a minor.

Harvey Medley, 21, Indianapolis, was booked at 3:22 a.m. Nov. 29 for public intoxication.

Tamara Ford, 22, Indianapolis, was booked at 3:41 a.m. Nov. 29 for public intoxication.

Jason Skinner, 29, Indianapolis, was booked at 3:50 a.m. Nov. 29 for driving while intoxicated and operating per se.

William Owens, 31, Greencastle, was booked at 5:18 a.m. Nov. 29 for driving while intoxicated.

Stephanie Inglert, 21, Greencastle, was booked at 10:23 p.m. Nov. 29 for domestic battery.

Jessie Parks, 42, Cloverdale, was booked at 12:44 a.m. Nov. 30 for driving while intoxicated, operating per se, public intoxication, possession of marijuana a over 30 grams and possession of paraphernalia.

Jeremy Duncan, 34, Bald Knob, Ark., was booked at 2:09 a.m. Nov. 30 for driving under the influence, operating per se and public intoxication.

Gary Stokes, 34, Greencastle, was booked at 12:01 a.m. Monday for violation of home detention.

Jennifer Farr, 26, Amo, was booked at 8:58 a.m. Tuesday for harassment, identity deception and probation violation.

Timothy Parker, 43, Indianapolis, was booked at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday for failure to appear.

Jewett Scott, 36, Indianapolis, was booked at 11:24 a.m. Tuesday for theft.

Tammy Mitchener, 32, Roachdale, was booked at 11:59 a.m. Tuesday for theft and corrupt business influence.

Samuel Robertson, 29, Spencer, was booked at 12:38 p.m. Tuesday for probation violation.
