SP eighth graders get win

The South Putnam eighth grade basketball team won a pair of games against Riverton Parke Tuesday. The A-team won 39-16, with the B-team defeating the Panthers 32-13.

The A-team was led by Jordan Frame's 10 points and Lewie Knoy's nine. Ryan Chestnut scored seven, Justin Bumgardner had six and Kinser Franklin had three. J.D. Briones and Trent Workman each had two points. The team held the Panthers scoreless in the first quarter and entered the half up 19-4.

In B-team action, Chestnut was the workhorse for the Eagles, racking up nine points to lead the way. Trent Workman and Nick Scott added six each, while Marcus Skinner and Tommy Tincher put in five apiece. Brandon Smith chipped in one point in the Eagles' 32-13 win.

South Putnam will be back in action next Thursday at home against Southmont at 6 p.m.
