Area youth bowlers perform well in state tournament

The Greater Greencastle USBC Bowling Association had over sixty youth bowlers that competed in the Youth State Tournament that was held in Merrillville.

The Sheldon's Gutter Rats finished sixth out of 130 entries in Division 4 with a team score of 2,581. The members of the team were Matt Cox, Cody Sheldon, Jacob Ensor, Kenny Buchanan, and Taylor Poe. The VFW Buffalo's finished third out of 66 entries in Division 8 with a team score of 1,673. The team members were Kayden Wheeler, Brody Downey, Zane Miller, Duke Duff, and Luke Brotherton.

Michael Rumley and J T Chadd finished 14th out of 208 entries in the Division 3 doubles with a score of 1,269 while Kenny Buchanan and Matt Cox finished ninth out of 273 entries in Division 4 with a score of 1,194. Austin Alspaugh and Reggie Alex finished 13th and Hayden Rogers and Cody Fulford finished 27th out of 291 entries in Division 5. Austin and Reggie's score was 1125 and Hayden and Cody's was 1,104. In Division 7 Chelsay Dickerson and Brittany Auten placed 12th out of 300 entries with a score of 926.

The bowlers that placed in the singles event were Division 4 Jacob Ensor 15th (score of 641), Division 5 Hayden Rogers placed sixth (score of 621), Division 6 Blake Doolin finished 15th (score of 544) Division 7 Luke Brotherton place 29th (score of 474) and Todd Fenwick finished 39th (score of 463), Division 9 Rylan Mattocks finished 13th (score of 371).

Kayden Wheeler had an All Events score of 847 that won him a second place plaque in Division 11 and Hayden Rogers won first place in Division 5 with an All Events score of 1,776.
