Sheriff's Department

The Putnam County Sheriff's Department has reported the following accidents.

Jayne Bray, Greencastle, was traveling north on U.S. 231 at 8 a.m. Monday, when her vehicle began to skid due to icy road conditions. Bray's vehicle skidded across the road, into a light utility pole and a tree leaving no damage to the pole. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Kimberly Eads, Lebanon, was traveling west on W. Walnut St., at 7:58 a.m. Friday, when her attention was diverted to inside the vehicle causing her to veer off the road and strike a utility pole. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Ronald Shillings, Greencastle, was traveling north on U.S. 50 when a deer entered the roadway. Shillings stated he swerved to avoid hitting the animal, lost control of his vehicle and struck a large tree. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Teddy Bird, Greencastle, was traveling on S.R. 231 at 8:25 a.m. Friday, when a deer entered the roadway. He was unable to avoid hitting the animal. Kenny's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was estimated $5,000 to $10,000 in damages.

In the Putnam Scanner for Dec. 12, it was reported Christopher Hanneman was ejected from his vehicle and not wearing his safety belt. Hanneman was wearing his seat belt and was not ejected from the vehicle.

Putnam County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail during the weekend.

Heather Moore, 29, Greencastle, was booked at 11:17 p.m. Friday for obtaining a legend drug by fraud or deceit.

James Terry, 45, Greencastle, was booked at 4:11 a.m. Friday for public intoxication and resisting law enforcement.

Kelly Lashbrook, 26, Cloverdale was booked at 9:30 p.m. Friday for battery causing serious bodily injury to a person less than 14 years of age.

Reba Silman, 19, Greencastle, was booked at 10:17 p.m. Friday for possession of alcohol by a minor and public intoxication.

Kristy Blackledge, 31, Greencastle, was booked at 10:34 p.m. Friday for public intoxication and driving while intoxicated.

David Uribe, 33, Sidney, Neb., was booked at 2:38 a.m. Saturday for public intoxication.

Aaron Jerrell, 18, Greencastle, was booked at 4:35 a.m. Saturday for mischief, disorderly conduct, resisting law enforcement and possession of alcohol by a minor.
