Edgar C. Wilson, 84, of Greencastle died Wednesday, Jan. 7 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute.

Born Feb. 8, 1924 in Bainbridge, he was the son of Thomas Freeman and Lilly May Staggs Wilson. He was a graduate of Greencastle High School class of 1942. He married Margie I. Richardson on May 11, 1946 and she survives.

Mr. Wilson served in the United States Navy as a seabie during World War II. He was a member of the V.F.W., Greencastle. He retired from McLean Trucking Company, where he had worked as a mechanic. He had previously been a mechanic for Omar Bakery.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Calvin Dewayne Wilson of Carmel and Paul Wilson and wife Mickie of Greencastle; two brothers, Rev. Claude F. Wilson of Alva, Fla. and Richard "Doc" Wilson of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; five grandchildren, Kevin Wilson, Tammy Durbin, Amanda Patterson, Christy Wilson and Jessica Wilson; and one great-granddaughter, Layla Pruitt.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret L. Russell.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday.
