Eagles drop game to Rox

Even an 18-point performance from Lewie Knoy couldn't lift the South Putnam eighth grade boys' basketball team over Rockville.

In addition to Knoy's performance, Ryan Chestnut added five points, Justin Bumgardner had four and Aaron Parker and Jordan Frame had three points each.

South Putnam outscored the Rox 23-22 in the second half, but a rough first half had the Eagles down 12 points at the half. Knoy scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half to lead the Eagle charge.

The Rox had two players score 15 points on the night and helped lift Rockville over the Eagles.

South Putnam will host Clay City tonight at 6:30 p.m.
