Betty Lou Thornburg

Betty Lou Thornburg, 76, of Russellville died Friday.



Born July 8, 1932, in Richmond, she was the daughter of Ralph Turner and Marie Coria Ellen Stricker. 

She married Glenn "Cecil" Thornburg on April 2, 1950 in Martinsville.

Mrs. Thornburg retired after 23 years of service with the North Putnam School Corporation. She worked as a teacher's assistant and later as a bus driver.



Survivors include her husband Glenn; nine children, Debbie Harris and husband Jay of Florida, Tony Thornburg and wife Deantha of Crawfordsville, Ralph Thornburg and wife Angel of Ladoga, 
Alan Thornburg and wife Debby of Arkansas, Eddie Thornburg and wife Janet of Russellville, Duffy Thornburg and wife Kristi of Jamestown, Judy Hasselburg and husband George of Roachdale, Opal Surber-Daley and husband Terry of Mace, and Bill Thornburg and wife Michelle of Russellville; three sisters, Anna Sweet and wife Kenneth of Lafayette, Janine Wright and husband Gene of Cayuga and Opal Swank of Waynetown; three brothers, Gary Turner and wife Marilyn of Athens, Ala., Bud Turner and wife Linda of Centerville and David Turner and wife Patty 
of Washington state; 24 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-mother Lucille Turner.



Funeral services are scheduled to be at the Russellville Community Church, 103 West 3rd Street, on Tuesday. Calling will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with services and burial immediately following.
