Shirley Mae Jarvis

Shirley Mae Jarvis, 73, of Russellville died at Methodist Hospice Monday, Jan. 19, 2009.

She was born to John William and Luella Jones Beach on March 5, 1935 in Cottage Grove. She married Joseph Jarvis on June 14, 1950 in Cottage Grove, and he survives.

Mrs. Jarvis was employed in retail clothing, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Russellville Community Church. She graduated from Union High School in Liberty.

She is survived by her mother Luella Beach, sons Kevin Jarvis and wife Denise of Jacksonville, Ill., James Jarvis and wife Bari of Martinsville, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brother John Beach and wife Keyo of San Diego, Calif. and sisters Betty Townsend of Richmond and Joan Cable and husband Harvey of Bowie, Md.

She was preceded in death by her father and a great grandchild Calista.

Services will be at Russellville Community Church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. James and Kathy Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Russellville Cemetery. Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
