Covered Bridge Country Chorus members Denise Thede, Skip Sutton, Deb Beck and Jodi Leach watched as Greencastle Mayor Sue Murray signed a proclamation naming Feb. 8-14 as Harmony Awareness Week. The chorus is a chapter of Harmony, Inc.

Members of the Covered Bridge Country Chorus (CBCC) gathered at Greencastle Mayor Sue Murray's office for the signing of a proclamation.

Feb. 8-14 is Harmony Awareness Week in the City of Greencastle.

Harmony Inc. is a vibrant, international singing organization of women dedicated to the celebration of friendship, personal growth and development through music and leadership education. The Covered Bridge Country Chorus is a charter member of Harmony, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The women sing in four-part a capella harmony in barbershop style. They take part in various competitions including one in June. They also put on a terrific show every fall, which is open to the public. The members of CBCC dedicate their time and talents in supporting local charities and sharing the joy of music with others.

Currently they are taking singing valentine requests. For $25 they will deliver a box of candy or rose along with two songs.

"Usually we sing 'Let Me Call You Sweetheart' or 'Heart of My Heart.' We can sing other things depending on the request," said Chorus Member Denise Thede.

The group will travel most places locally and have in the past even delivered their valentine songs in Terre Haute and Brazil.

An additional cost might be required depending upon how far away they are asked to travel.

"Most of the valentines are delivered on Feb. 13 and 14 but we try to be flexible," added Thede.

To request a singing valentine from the group call Thede at 653-0514.
