Putnam County Jail

Thomas Miller, 39, Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 3:26 a.m. Wednesday for criminal recklessness with a vehicle, neglect of a dependent, reckless driving and resisting law enforcement using a vehicle.

Daniel Roach, 28, Cloverdale, was booked at 4:17 a.m. Wednesday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Gina Ballenger, 22, Cloverdale, was booked at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday for probation violation.

Sheriff's Department

The following accidents were reported to the sheriff's office.

Joshua Dunbar, Avon, was traveling west on S.R. 36 when two horses entered the road. Dunbar swerved to avoid the animals and hit a mailbox causing damage to the front driver's side of his vehicle. The accident occurred at 5:30 a.m. Thursday. Kenny's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $1,000 to $2,500 in damages.

Zachary Marsee, Fillmore, was traveling on Hwy. 550 East at 4:22 p.m. Tuesday when he topped the hill and saw a vehicle in the middle of the road. Marsee applied his brakes, but slid on the ice. His vehicle slid into the driver's side of Brandon Hinkle's vehicle, as he turned into his driveway. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Jessica Sturges, Fillmore, was traveling on Putnam Street at 3:54 p.m. Tuesday, when she attempted to stop at an intersection. Her vehicle slid into traffic due to icy road conditions. Sturges collided with a vehicle driven by Christina Hewitt of Fillmore. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Heather Smith, Brazil, was traveling north on Manhattan Road at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday when she attempted to stop for an emergency vehicle traveling south. Smith's vehicle slid into the back of Erlin Gracia's vehicle due to the road conditions. Seniour's Wrecker Service towed Smith's vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.
