Helen M. Appleby, 83, of Cloverdale died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009 at her residence.

She was born on Nov. 26, 1925 in Hendricks County and was the daughter of the late Benjamine Sam and Lillie Cordie Lawson Snapp. She married George W. Appleby on Feb. 14, 1943 and he preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2002.

Mrs. Appleby was a homemaker and a member of Cloverdale Church of the Nazarene and the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Sylvia Snapp; adoptive siblings Kenneth and Ramona Tilford; nieces Sharon Doty and husband Mike, Donna Schoch and husband Dave and Michelle Remold and husband Chip; nephews Don Tilford and wife Charlie and Mike Snapp; great-nieces Angie Ponce and husband Drew, Lauren Remolde and Brooke Remolde; great-nephews Michael Doty and wife Deanna, Ryan Schoch and wife Karmen, and Cody Tilford; great-great-nieces Autumn Glaese and Ashlee Glaese; great-great-nephews Joshua Glaese, Mitch Doty, James Schoch, Payton Schoch and Drew Schoch; great-great-great-niece Bailee Glaese; and many cousins.

She was also preceded in death by her son Michael Lynn Appleby, sister Mildred Lillian Tilford and brother Virgil Lowe Snapp.

Funeral services will be on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be on Firday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cloverdale cemetery.
