Martha June Goode

Martha June Sutherlin Goode, 79, of Greencastle died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009 at Autumn Glen Assisted Living.

Born Sept. 10, 1929 in Putnam County, the daughter of Andrew and Ladona Langdon Sutherlin. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School. On Sept. 15, 1948 she married E. Tressman Goode, and he preceded her in death in 1983. She attended the First Baptist Church of Greencastle.

Mrs. Goode and her husband were the owners of the Allis Chalmers tractor dealership in Greencastle for several years.

Survivors include her daughter, Darla Clodfelter and husband Philip of Greencastle; son Darrell Goode and wife Barbara of Bainbridge; four grandchildren, Jason Clodfelter and wife Carole of Salem, Jodi Willhite and husband Josh of Hill City, S.D., Amber Goode and fiancée Dan Taylor of Bainbridge and Tressman L. Goode of Bainbridge; three great-grandchildren; sister Jeretta Brown and husband John of Lizton, brother Robert Sutherlin and wife Mildred of Greencastle; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Norma Craig.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Bowen officiating. Burial will be in the Brick Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
