Billie K. Sillery, 86, of Greencastle died on Monday Feb. 23, 2009 at Mill Pond Health Campus. Her husband, Nadean "Dean" Arden Sillery whom she married on June 23, 1963, preceded her in death four days earlier.

She was born on Jan. 16, 1923 in Corbin, Ky. to Dr. E.L. Harmon and Elsie Lanham Harmon. She was a 1941 graduate of Corbin High School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Greencastle, Putnam County Hospital Guild and the DePauw University Retiree's Club.

Mrs. Sillery retired from DePauw University, where she was a secretary in the Department of Philosophy and Religion, and had been an operator at General Telephone Company.

Surviving are two nieces, Alice McKeehan of Elkhart and Carolyn Stephens and husband Lloyd of Austin, Texas; a sister-in-law Louise Downs of Dana; and brother-in-law Leroy Sillery and wife Florence of Reelsville.

Her parents; two brothers, Paul Harmon and Glen Harmon; and three sisters, Grace McKeehan, Ruth Strunk and infant Hazel Harmon also preceded her in death.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Blaydes and the Rev. Jimmy Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Fillmore Cemetery.
