Annette M. Atkins

Annette M. Atkins, 82, of Brownsburg died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009.

Mrs. Atkins lived in Greencastle for 30 years, where she owned and operated Toppers Restaurant. She moved to Brownsburg and was a WalMart greeter when it first opened. She was a member of St. Malachy Church.

Survivors include children William Atkins, John Atkins, David Atkins, Mark Atkins and Lola Niblack; sisters Mary Gillum and Sarah Palmer; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband Joseph E. Atkins Sr. and son Joseph E. Atkins II.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg. Burial will be at West Ridge Park Cemetery. Calling will be at the funeral home from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or National Kidney Foundation.
