Virginia Coover, author of "The Natural Greenhouse," will be at the Putnam County Master Gardener's Home and Garden Show on March 13 from noon to 8 p.m. and March 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Coover will give presentations and be on hand to sign books and answer questions at the Community Building at the Putnam County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Coover has grown greenhouse plants and vegetables for 26 years. She sold out of her greenhouse for 15 years, and has been a vendor at the Athens, Ohio Farmer's Market for 21 years.

She helped design and build her greenhouses and workspaces. For two years, she managed a producer's co-op that sold local plants, fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs and processed food products.

Originally trained as a high school biology and general science teacher, she now promotes natural greenhouse production through presentations and workshops.

Coover grew up in the Indianapolis area, attending John Strange Elementary School and North Central High School. She graduated from Earlham College in Richmond with a degree in biology.
