South Putnam Education Foundation presents "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?"

Class will be in session at 7 p.m. Friday in the Central Elementary School gymnasium, as the South Putnam Community Education Foundation presents "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?"

Four of South Putnam's teachers Cindy Evens, David Mann, Elaine Bye and Jill McCammack will compete with the help of some of South's finest fifth graders.

Darwyn Nelson will try and fill in the role of Jeff Foxworthy as the teachers work their way from the easy first grade questions to the fifth-grade level of questions.

Susan Sullivan from the technology department has been working hard to utilize some of South Putnam's technological capabilities to present this contest. Domino's will be providing an all you can eat pizza smorgasbord beginning at 6 p.m.

The public is encouraged to attend, enjoy pizza and the program, while supporting the South Putnam Community Education Foundation.

Through its various fundraising efforts, the foundation has been able to present three grants to teachers of South Putnam schools along with a number of student scholarships.

Funds from this event will be dedicated to continue to provide teachers with additional funds to improve the education opportunities in the classroom.

The South Putnam Community Education Foundation is a 501c3 designated organization and member of the Indiana Association of Public Education Foundations.

South Putnam's Foundation will be accepting teacher grant applications until April 3 and will recognize the recipient at this year's annual meeting on April 17th in the high school cafeteria.
