Beverly S. Jones, 76, Winchester, died on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Randolph Nursing Home in Winchester.

She was born on Jan. 25, 1933, in Delaware County to Harry H. and Meribah (Anderson) Haney.

She was a 1951 graduate of Selma High School and was a member of the Desoto United Methodist Church.

She married Gordon H. Jones on Sept. 28, 1951. He preceded her in death in 2002.

She was an avid reader, who also enjoyed camping and entertaining. She liked to trail ride and was a past president of the Indiana Trail Riders Association.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her children Jay K. Jones of Laurel, Glenna Pittman of Winchester, and Valerie and husband Jim Buchanan of Greencastle; three grandchildren, Brittany and husband Jimmy Boyd of Winchester, Miranda and husband Seth Key of Winchester and Jada Buchanan of Greencastle; a stepgrandson, Michael and wife Tiffany Buchanan of Bloomington; six great-grandchildren, Alara, Delaney, Joselyn, and Jensen Boyd, Jordan and Jayce Key; three brothers, Ed and wife Janet Haney of Selma, Phil Haney and friend Delores Williams of Selma, Hal and wife Rhoda Haney of Albany; two brother-in-laws, Ross and wife Kay Cowgill of Desoto, Verlin and wife Rhonda Jones of Farmland; a sister-in-law, Sue O'Dell of Muncie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Joe (wife Pat) Haney and Bob Haney; and three sisters, Betty (husband John) Young, Helen (husband Lee) Hunt, Doris Cowgill, and a sister-in-law, Luran Haney.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Desoto United Methodist Church in Desoto with the Rev. Daryl Hamlyn officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Desoto.

Friends and relatives may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester.

Memorials can be made to the Winchester Community Library, Farmland Public Library or the Desoto United Methodist Church, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
