Neighborhood Excellence applications due May 1

Thursday, April 9, 2009

The Putnam County Community Foundation is accepting applications for grants up to $1,000 for projects that strengthen and enrich neighborhoods in Putnam County.

Research indicates that neighborhood connectedness and sociability have many public benefits including increased support for vulnerable families, rejuvenated neighborhoods, reduced crime, reduced child injuries and neglect, reduced demand for public and non-profit services and an enhanced quality of life.

"It would be great to receive applications from neighborhoods all over the county," said Elaine Peck, executive director.

Applications are due May 1, 2009 and are available at pcfoundation.org or at the foundation office.
