Eagles remain perfect with wins

CASCADE -- The South Putnam High School softball team moved its record to 5-0 and 4-0 in the West Central Conference as it knocked off Cascade 10-2 and 11-0 in a doubleheader Wednesday night.

In game one, the Lady Eagles started off strong when Katelyn Sibbitt hit an inside-the-park grand slam. Then in the top of the fourth, Oceaia Boetjer hit another inside-the-park home run.

Sibbitt had four RBIs, while Boetjer had three RBIs.

Brooke Boetjer got the win in game one, fanning seven Cadets while allowing two hits and two earned runs.

In game two, South Putnam blanked Cascade 11-0 in five innings with Sarah Burnham pitching. Burnham struck out seven batters while allowing only two hits.

The Lady Eagles collected seven hits with one of them being an inside-the-park homerun from Brooke Boetjer.

The Boetjer sisters had three RBIs each.

South Putnam is back in action on Monday when it travels to Monrovia for another WCC battle, starting at 5 p.m.
