Cougars crush Rox

ROCKVILLE -- The North Putnam boys' track team defeated Rockville 84-39 Monday evening.

The Cougars scored 11 first-place finishes, along with four second-place finishes.

Seth Vondersaar won the discus with a distance of 143-feet-11-inches and Josh Keyt was victorious in the shot put with a throw of 45-feet-7-inches. P.J. Enders and Jake Smerage finished second in the high jump and long jump, respectively.

Tim Mason scored two wins on the night, winning the 110 meter hurdles in a time of 18:00 and the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 46.13.

Jeremy Minor took top honors in the 100 meters with a time of 12.03, while Enders won the 200 meters in a time of 23.85.

Kenny Quisenberry was also a two-event winner for the Cougars, capturing the 1,600 meter run in a time of 4:59 and the 3,200 meter run in a time of 11:39.

Caleb Vondersaar and Kasey McLaughlin had second-place finishes in the 400 meter run and the 800 meter run, respectively.

North Putnam captured all three relays on the night.

The 3,200 meter relay team of Quisenberry, Cody Paul, McLaughlin and Jacob Kirkham won in a time of 9:13, while the team of Caleb Vondersaar, Enders, Mason and Jeremy Minor won the 1,600 meter relay in a time of 3:43. Vondersaar, Minor, Mason and Enders teamed up once again to capture the 400 meter relay in a time of 47.47.

The Cougars will compete at the Athenian Relay Friday at 6 p.m.
