CLOVERDALE -- Ray E. Strange, 74, Poland, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Strange was born in Greencastle on Oct. 8, 1934 and was the son of the late Fred Oscar and Stella Louise Gentry Strange.

He was the founder and minister of the Country Junction Mission and Galilee Church Ministry in Poland. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion and Veteran's of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include a daughter Barbara Lowery of Crawfordsville; sister Margaret Killingbeck of Greencastle; brothers Charles Strange of Dalton, Ga., and Paul Strange of Greenville, S.C.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

His parents, sister Mary Strange and three brothers Roy Strange, Donald Strange and Woodrow Strange all preceded him in death.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Cloverdale Cemetery with Pastor Tom Tackett officiating.

There will not be a visitation.
