North Putnam falls to Panthers on the road

MONTEZUMA -- The North Putnam baseball team lost a close game Tuesday to Riverton Parke, 8-5.

Scott Hunt led the Cougars offense going 2-for-4 with a home run while Mitchell Crum went 2-for-4. Shane Diebold capped off North Putnam's hitting going 1-for-3.

Hunt took the loss for the Cougars, pitching the first four-and-one-third innings, fanning three batters while giving up six hits and eight runs. Mychael Buchanan pitched two-thirds of an inning, striking out two and Crum pitched one inning allowing one hit while retiring two batters.

North Putnam is back in action on Friday when it travels to Bethesda for a 5 p.m. game.
