Sheriff's Department
There were two accidents reported by the Putnam County Sheriff's Department recently.
Jeremy Hathaway, Union City, Ohio, was traveling southwest on CR 525N at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, when his vehicle downshifted causing it to hydroplane into a vehicle driven by Kyle Deyoung of Coatesville.
Neither vehicle was towed. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.
Cameron Ensor of Coatesville was traveling south on CR 775 at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, when he noticed a vehicle behind him traveling at a high speed. While Ensor was looking in his rearview mirror, the right front tire of his vehicle left the roadway causing it to travel 50 feet before hitting a tree stump.
Floyd Township Fire Department responded to the accident due to smoke from the vehicle. Kenny's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.
Putnam County Jail
Three individuals were booked into the Putnam County Jail Thursday.
Michael Terry, 20, Greenfield, was booked at 12:07 a.m. for failure to appear.
Damon Miller, 32, Greencastle, was booked at 3:45 a.m. for identity deception and probation violation.
Rachel McDougall, 19, Greencastle, was booked at 12:49 p.m. for failure to appear.
Greencastle Fire Department
Crews were dispatched to 308 Medic Way at 2:01 p.m. Thursday for an alarm due to accidental set off. They were back in service at 2:31 p.m.
Crews were dispatched to 200 W. Hannah St., at 2:58 p.m. Thursday, but were disregarded en route. They were back in service at 3:02 p.m.
