Charles L. Butler, 81, of Greencastle died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Putnam County Hospital.

Born Dec. 28, 1927 in Hendricks County, the son of Hansil and Maude (Farrow) Butler. He attended Stilesville High School. On Sept. 24, 1945, he married Betty J. (McGuffey) Butler and she survives.

He was the owner and operator of Butler's LP and Fertilizer. He was a member of the Greencastle Elks.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mickie Wilson and husband Paul of Greencastle; four sons, Mike Butler and wife Kathy of Houston, Texas, Mark Butler of Plainfield, Morris Butler and Maurice Butler and wife Carolyn both of Greencastle; four grandchildren, Michaela R. Anderson and husband Erik of Katy, Texas, Amanda J. Patterson of Speedway, Miranda S. Heavin and husband Brent of Greencastle and Matthew C. Butler of Terre Haute.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Raymond Butler; two sisters, Clarrissa Arnold, Doricella Keck and infant grandson Mackinley C. Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home (Formerly the Chandler-Hays Facility 4 N. Percy Julian Dr.) with Pastor Donnie Watson officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery
