Malcolm L. Berry, 87, of Greencastle died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Hickory Creek at Sunset.

Born June 1, 1922 in Parke County, he was the son of John P. and Cora Snow Berry. He was a 1941 graduate of Union Township High School in Parke County. He married Bonnie Mount on April 11, 1942 and she survives.

Mr. Berry retired in 1989 from Tri State Veneer, having worked as a timber buyer. After retirement he had also worked for Martin Logging, Ohio Valley and Crowder Hardwoods. Previously he had worked in general trucking, owning and operating his own truck. He had attended Clinton Falls Church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Rick Berry and wife Judy of Greencastle, David Berry and wife LaDonna of Roachdale and Bill Berry and wife Sherry of Roachdale; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Earl, Morris, Forrest, Carl and Marvin Berry; and three sisters, Marjorie Seward, Mary Ferguson, and Helen Hayman.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Small officiating. Burial will follow at the Clinton Falls Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
