Raymond E. Linneman, 88, of Cataract died on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at his residence.

He was the son of the late William F. and Ruth A. Price Linneman and was born on Jan. 17, 1921 in Logansport. He was married to Norma Carol Swafford on Dec. 15, 1940 in Logansport in the Christian Church, and she survives.

Mr. Linneman worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad in Indianapolis for 41 years as a conductor, and he co-owned, with his wife, the Corner Cupboard Antique Shop for 21 years. Raymond and Norma moved to Cataract in 1973. He retired from the railroad in 1980 and from his antique business in 1985.

He was a member of the Cataract Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge # 132, F.&A.M., Cloverdale.

He is survived by his wife Norma; his children, Carol K. Linneman of Gresham, Ore. and Larry Linneman and wife Ellie of Cataract; four grandchildren, Robin Rand of Cape Coral, Fla., Brittney Bashore and husband Kenny of Cataract, Scott Schrein and wife Noelle of Happy Valley, Ore. and Mel Schrein of Poway, Calif.; six great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Ashlynn, Kyndell, and Maridianne Basore and Joshua and Shelby Schrein.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Glenn Linneman.

He will always be remembered as a dedicated and loving family man and a true gentleman.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale, with Pastor Jerry Huber and Pastor Robert Yount officiating. Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.

Calling will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
