National Night Out is cancelled

GREENCASTLE -- National Night Out, scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at Robe-Ann Park, has been cancelled.

The event will not be rescheduled, said co-chairman Linda Merkle with Putnam County Youth Development.

  • It does seem like a lot of work and advertising went into this. I know someone behind the scenes must be very disappointed. Whoever planned and worked hard on this thanks for the work you did toward the community. It does not go unrecognized.

  • If the community is really serious about getting together as a community to show support for law enforcement and wanting to reduce crime, then the event HAS to be rescheduled. If it isn't, then it's just all talk and no action.

  • Why didn't they have it anyway? It had stopped raining when it was set to start. I hated that it was cancelled.
