Girl Scouts seeking adult volunteers

Monday, August 31, 2009

Girl Scouts are currently recruiting adult volunteers within Putnam County.

Volunteers are not limited to only those adults who have girls involved in the Girl Scouting program. The Girl Scouts welcome any adult who has an interest in kids. The mission is to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.

Volunteers can select from a range of opportunities from being a troop leader to helping with local events or camp to sharing a special interest or helping girls to earn badges.

More information is available during their Girl Scout adult recruitment meeting this Thursday starting at 7 p.m. at Tzouanakis Intermediate School. Anyone interested in meeting local leaders and finding out more about the Girl Scout program is invited to the meeting.

Girl Scout registration will also take place at "Scout Nights" at the following locations and times:

* Sept. 8 at Bainbridge Elementary starting at 6:30 p.m.

* Sept. 14 at Roachdale Elementary starting at 6:30 p.m.

* Sept. 15 at TZ for all Greencastle Schools starting at 6:30 p.m.

Anyone that is unable to attend and would like more information may contact Katrina Asher at 522-1571.
