Troy Brown, 38, of Pinckneyville, Ill., formerly of Westville Ill., died on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009 at his residence in Pinckneyville.

He was born August 21, 1971 in Danville, Ill., the son of Wayne W. Brown and Sharon Michael-Elliott. He married Terri Kay Elliott on June 4, 1993 in Danville. She survives.

Mr. Brown was a 1989 graduate of Westville High School. He was a coalminer, currently working for Peabody Coal Company. He was also a skilled craftsman and carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, coaching youth sports and was an avid Fighting Illini fan. He was formerly a professional boxer.

More then anything in his life, Troy loved to spend every moment with his three boys. They were the world to him.

Other survivors include his mother, Sharon (Terry) Elliott of Westville; his father, Wayne (Carol) Brown of Rockville; his three sons, Trevor, Tanner, and Treyton; two sisters, Shelley (Michael) Hillison and of Westville and Michele Neal of Westville, two step-sisters, Elizabeth B. (Kerry) Pratt and of Sauk Village, Ill. and Valerie (Roy) Reed of Terre Haute.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral Services were held at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel in Westville with Ron Richmond officiating. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for the future of his children.
