Putnam County Sheriff's Department

Two recent accidents were the result of deer running across the roadway.

Melissa Cox of Greencastle was traveling west on Oak Street at 6:37 a.m. Tuesday and struck a deer. Her vehicle was not towed from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Tammy Hubble of Fillmore was traveling east on CR 250S at 6:24 p.m. Monday and struck a deer. Her vehicle was not towed from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Daniel Wood of Fillmore was driving a Wheel-Horse riding lawnmower in a yard near 130 N. Main St., Fillmore, when it struck a vehicle driven by Matthew Zimmerman of Fillmore.

Zimmerman was traveling south on Main Street at the time of the accident. Wood stated he thought the mower was in reverse, but it traveled forward and struck the right-front fender and wheel of Zimmerman's vehicle.

No injuries were reported. There was an estimated $750 to $1,000 in damages.

Putnam County Jail

Clifford Hull, 21, Indianapolis, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 1:25 a.m. Saturday for public intoxication.

Kyle Macy, 19, Greencastle, was booked at 2:33 a.m. Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Kyle Poynter, 21, Mecca, was booked at 2:55 a.m. Saturday for public intoxication, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating per se.

Patrick Stewart, 21, Spencer, was booked at 3:08 a.m. Saturday for public intoxication.

Elaine Venable, 51, homeless, was booked at 10 a.m. Saturday for petition to revoke bond.

James Cobble, 51, Redlands, Calif., was booked at 10:23 a.m. Saturday for non-support of a child.

Adam Haberle, 27, Greencastle, was booked at 1:11 p.m. Saturday for violation of probation.

James Page, 27, Greencastle, was booked at 2:19 a.m. Sunday for domestic battery and mischief.

Mark Sadler, 30, Fillmore, was booked at 3:45 a.m. Sunday for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Gina Ballenger, 22, Cloverdale, was booked at 3:49 a.m. Sunday for violation of probation and battery.

Randall Suggs, 19, Bloomington, was booked at 4 p.m. Sunday for possession of alcohol by a minor and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Scott Renner, 42, Cloverdale, was booked at 4:23 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and public intoxication.

Dane Thompson, 34, Marshall, Ill., was booked at 12:55 a.m. Monday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and public intoxication.

Eugene Kitchen, 39, Indianapolis, was booked at 12:57 p.m. Monday for petition to revoke probation.

Ricky Smith, 43, Shelbyville, was booked at 1:34 p.m. Monday for petition to revoke probation.

Nathan Sanford, 26, Indianapolis, was booked at 1:52 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to 208 Olive St., at 4:29 a.m. Sunday for a fire alarm. They were back in service at 4:32 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 3456 S. CR 200W at 5:36 p.m. Sunday for a residential fire alarm. Nothing was found and they were back in service at 6:03 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 504 Seminary St., at 7:15 p.m. Monday, but were disregarded before leaving the station. They were back in service at 7:17 p.m.
