Putnam County Jail

Joni Wood, 20, address unknown, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 12:39 p.m. Thursday for trafficking with an inmate.

James Short, 54, Indianapolis, was booked at 3 p.m. Thursday for petition to revoke probation.

Howard Jines, 44, Indianapolis, was booked at 7:24 p.m. Thursday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a chemical test and public intoxication.

Craig Sonnek, 50, Prescott, Wis., was booked at 12:19 a.m. Friday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and public intoxication.

Latasha O'Conner, 20, Greencastle, was booked at 1 a.m. Friday for reckless possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and neglect of a dependent.

Marcus McCombs, 23, Greencastle, was booked at 1:26 a.m. Friday for possession of marijuana, neglect of a dependent and reckless possession of paraphernalia.

Elizabeth Dunn, 28, Greencastle, was booked at 3:02 a.m. Friday for neglect of a dependent, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and reckless possession of paraphernalia.

Jason Hayes, 38, Greencastle, was booked at 3:26 a.m. Friday for possession of paraphernalia, marijuana and cocaine and residential entry.

Greencastle Police Department

Several vehicle accidents have been reported by the Greencastle Police Department.

At 3:13 a.m. Sept. 5, Jeffrey Cox, 36, Greencastle, was operating a 2008 Pontiac GT east out of the parking lot behind Toppers Bar and should have gone either north or south, but continued straight, colliding with two concrete posts over the sidewalk and at the edge of Swifty Gas Station. His vehicle came to rest on the sidewalk and in the roadway on Bloomington Street.

Cox refused medical treatment at the scene. He was later booked into the Putnam County Jail at 4:43 a.m. for public intoxication, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating per se.

There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Drivers Charlotte Vincent, 58, Cloverdale, and David Navert, 40, Fillmore, were stopped in traffic on SR 240E, when James Carter, 48, Brazil, thought traffic had begun to move and struck the back of Vincent's vehicle, causing it to be pushed into the back of Navert's vehicle.

The crash occurred at 3:10 p.m. Sept. 9. Seniour's Wrecker Service towed Carter's vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Doug Short, 41, Clinton, was at a stop sign on Percy Julian Drive and SR 240E when he pulled into traffic and into the path of a vehicle driven by Diana Buis, 73, Greencastle. The collision caused Clinton's vehicle to spin into the eastbound lane of 240 and strike a vehicle driven by Kyrian Marshall, 21, Reeslville.

Following the crash, Short was transported to Putnam County Hospital with complaint of lower back pain; and Buis was transported to PCH with complaint of chest pain.

The accident occurred at 12:09 p.m. Sept. 11. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed Short and Buis' vehicles from the scene. Seniour's Wrecker Service towed Marshall's vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $10,001 to $25,000 in damages.

Steven A. Kennedy, 49, and his passenger Sue Kennedy, 54, both of Goodland, were traveling east on Washington Street on a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle, when they were struck by a vehicle driven by Susan Murray, 60, of Greencastle.

Murray advised she was at the stop sign southbound on Locust Street and was attempting to cross Washington Street at the time of the crash. She stated she looked both ways and saw traffic coming from the west, but had time to cross. She did not see the eastbound motorcycle.

Kennedy stated he saw Murray's vehicle pull into his path and applied his brakes, but it was too late to avoid a collision.

Sue Kennedy was transported to Putnam County Hospital with pain to her entire body and later airlifted to Methodist Hospital.

The accident occurred at 4:55 p.m. Sept. 11. Seniour's Wrecker Service towed the Harley Davidson from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Robert Chastain, 62, Bainbridge, was operating a Peterbilt semi eastbound on Walnut Street at 7:41 p.m. Thursday, when he stopped at the intersection of Walnut and Jackson streets. He observed a vehicle driven by Janice Dazey, 54, Greencastle, traveling north on Jackson Street and didn't realize it was turning left onto Walnut Street. Chastain pulled out to make a left turn and struck the side of Dazey's vehicle.

There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

The following tickets were issued by GPD:

David Estrada, 24, Greencastle, was stopped on S. Jackson Street at 10:47 p.m. Sept. 2 and cited for never being licensed.

Bryan Templeman, 34, Roachdale, was stopped on Washington and Bloomington streets at 12:40 a.m. Sept. 6 and cited for a front seatbelt violation.

Shane Searcey, 23, Marysville, Kan., was stopped at Washington and Wood streets at 1:30 a.m. Sept. 6 and cited for no operator's license when required.

Kelly Minton, 19, Danville, was stopped on Veteran's Memorial Highway at 10 a.m. Sept. 8 and cited for speeding -- 70 mph in a 40 mph zone.

Kelly Jordan, 30, Greencastle, was stopped on N. Jackson Street at 2:50 a.m. Sept. 4 and cited for driving while suspended.

Erica Thompson, 32, Greencastle, was stopped in Indiana Street at 10 p.m. Sept. 10 and cited for no license plate.

Darla Minartz, 29, Greencastle, was stopped on Washington Street at 10:10 p.m. Sept. 5 and cited for expired license plate.

Charles Cooper, 21, Greencastle, was stopped on Indianapolis Road at 11:15 p.m. Sept. 5 and cited for driving while suspended and false/fictitious registration.

Michael Busch, 18, Greencastle, was stopped on Washington Street at 3:15 p.m. Sept. 8 and cited for unreasonable speed.

James McKinney, 41, Coatesville, was stopped on Fillmore Road at 6:06 p.m. Sept. 2 and cited for expired license plate and false/fictitious registration.

Christian Wishmeier, 35, Greencastle, was stopped on Fillmore Road at 2:37 p.m. Sept. 5 and cited for speeding -- 50 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Jesse Caveness, 33, Greencastle, was stopped on Fillmore Road at 5:15 p.m. Sept. 6 and cited for speeding -- 54 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Heather Wagoner, 28, Poland, was stopped on Fillmore Road at 10:25 a.m. Sept. 11 and cited for speeding -- 50 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Timothy Limp, 39, Coatesville, was stopped on Fillmore Road at 5:40 p.m. Sept. 12 and cited for driving while suspended.
