Putnam County Jail

Jeffrey Cottrell, 46, Terre Haute, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 8:13 p.m. Wednesday for public intoxication.

Christopher Monnett, 31, Greencastle, was booked at 2:35 a.m. Thursday for public intoxication and trespassing.

Putnam County Sheriff's Office

Jacob Layne of Coatesville was traveling on CR 700E near Groveland at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, when he rounded a corner and hit his brakes, causing the front tires to lock up and the vehicle to slide over into the left lane, hitting an ATV being driven by Donald Allen of Coatesville.

No injuries were reported at the scene. Neither vehicle was towed. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to Green County at 7:42 a.m. Thursday to assist with a HAZMAT spill. They were back in service at 2:33 p.m.
