GREENCASTLE -- The Indiana Department of Correction Commissioner Edwin Buss presented staff from the Putnamville Correctional Facility with awards, during the Indiana Correctional Association annual conference held in Evansville.

Nominees were selected from more than 30 facilities and correctional agencies for their contribution and job excellence. The nominations were submitted to the IDOC Commissioner, who selected a winner in each of 13 categories.

PCF staff was the recipient of three of the awards. Superintendent Bruce Lemmon, of Terre Haute, was awarded the Distinguished Service Award in recognition of more than 10 years of continuous contribution to the agency, above and beyond that which is required.

Alisia Lawrence, administrative assistant, of Terre Haute, received the Administrative Support Award in recognition of excellent service and support provided to the facility/agency in an administrative capacity.

Human Resource Generalist Kathy Goss of Cloverdale received the Human Resource Award in recognition of her contribution to enhancing Human Resource processes, recruitment and retention practices.

"All too often, the counter productive actions of staff are publicized, when it's the professionalism and dedication of our staff, exhibited on a daily basis, that should be brought to the forefront, and this was the Department's opportunity to do so," said Commissioner Edwin G. Buss.

"I take great pride in congratulating and thanking award recipients for their professionalism and contribution of knowledge, expertise and time to the Department," he continued.
