Extension Homemaker County President, Geneva Dorris praised and challenged members during the 2009 Achievement Night. Dorris praised the members for winning the traveling trophy for the most members in attendance at the recent Terre Haute District Fall meeting which was held at McCormick's Creek State Park. She challenged members to join her in making the current program year a very successful one. The 2009 Achievement Night was hosted by members of Club 16 and Friends and Neighbors Extension Homemakers Clubs. Five clubs (Allspices, Boondock Pals, Club 16, Double Friendship and Northern Lights) were recognized as Model Clubs and nine clubs (Better Homes; Community Service; Country Bak'n Bunch; Family, Friends & Fun; Friends and Neighbors; Heritage Heartland; Merry J's; Town and Country; Tuesday Getaways) were recognized for being Model and Honor Clubs. Over 80 members were recognized for being 100 percent members. During the evening, members enjoyed an interesting program by David McDanel of the Indiana State Museum. Any local homemaker interested in joining or learning more about the Putnam County Extension Homemaker organization should contact the Extension Office at 653-8411 or membership chair, Dorothy Wells at 653 -3586.
