Community panel planned

Thursday, October 29, 2009

A community panel on the high school dropout epidemic will take place today at 4 p.m. in DePauw Univeristy's Union Building Ballroom, 408 S. Locust St.

This event is free and open to the public. Panelists will include Randy Corn, Mary Dixon and Brad Tucker.

Putnam County recently participated in the Indiana Dropout Prevention Leadership Summit to help local communities learn about "best practice" programs that could be used in their local communities to help increase graduation rates.

Corn, GHS principal, and Tucker, State Farm Insurance, attended the summit with 10 others. Dixon is a professor and chair of Economics and Management at DePauw University.

Parking is available on Locust and Anderson Streets. Organized by the City of Greencastle Mayor's Office and the Bonner Scholar Program.
