Virginia Parker Hetser, 92, Greencastle, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 at the St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis.

Born Oct. 17, 1917 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Arthur and Helen Ash Geabes.

A graduate of Greencastle High School, she married Richard S. Parker and he preceded her in death. She married James Hetser in November of 1982 and he survives.

Mrs. Hetser had worked for several years in the credit department and as a clerk at Montgomery Ward and later worked in the home of Hazel Longdon, both in Greencastle.

She was a member of the Fillmore United Methodist Church and the Thursday Bridge Club.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Maurice Parker and wife, Carolyn of Fillmore; a daughter, Judy Wilcox of Coatesville; a stepdaughter, Susie Sendmeyer of Cunot; two sisters, Cornelia Ley and husband, Bud of Clay City and Doris Stites of Greencastle; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Parker; son-in-law, Morris L. Wilcox; brother, Wayne Geabes; and stepdaughter, Mindy Ferrand.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Forest Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Taylor officiating.

There will be no visitation.
